Wireless charging has been around for years now, and ever since the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X launched in September 2017, Nomad has been making industry-leading wireless chargers, like our Base Station Apple Watch and Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger. As dynamic as the wireless charging revolution has been, wireless chargers have their limitations: mainly, that devices must line up with the coils in the charger to charge.

Apple's AirPower, which was slated to release in 2018, was supposed to offer positionless wireless charging. Positionless charging means that multiple devices can charge anywhere on the pad, without having to be placed on specific locations. AirPower was quite possibly one of the most anticipated Apple accessories of all time. When Apple officially canceled AirPower on March 29th, 2019, it seemed that positionless wireless charging wasn't coming anytime soon.
